Through my window I noticed…

We see and we watch. One is entirely different from another. I’m not fascinated by anything when I see but when I watch something, I’m intrigued. In better words, when we see something we only look at the outer layer. And when we look past that outer layer, we watch. We see the story behind it. Human beings are like onions, we have multiple layers. And the real YOU is the core.

That is why I love crowd-watching. It gives me new perspectives, different stories, beautiful smiles, and unique manners.

So I made this entry in my journal.

Through my window I noticed…

Two friends sitting in front of a closed shop and chatting. After a couple of minutes, another guy, wearing a red scarf around his neck, joined them and continued their chitchat for a while.

I noticed the sky. There are quite a few clouds in the sky today. It is mid-day so the sky is bright and almost white. I like it better when it’s blue.

Then a vehicle came into the frame loudly announcing an advertisement about selling vegetables. It repeatedly announced ‘7 kg onions for 100 INR’, did I hear it wrong? And the back of the vehicle is filled with many sacks of onions. After a bit, a lady in a purple saree came to them to buy onions.

I also noticed a small house in construction. I only see one man working there. He’s going in and out of it working by himself. He’s bald and old. But he didn’t seem like he’s struggling to do it, he’s doing it with ease.

Then I saw a couple of ladies walking slowly on the side of the busy road. One of them is quite young and the other is silver-haired, most likely to be grandmom and granddaughter. The old woman placed her right hand on her granddaughter’s shoulder and walked slowly with her support. Sweet.

Then a man in a red shirt passes along holding two big balloons in his hand, a vendor definitely. One is blue and the other is pink colored with polka dots all over. They must be the only ones left.

Most of the shops are closed today, as it is Sunday, except for one hair salon. There’s also one customer sitting in a chair ready to get his hair cut. Nope, I am wrong, he’s the owner himself waiting for customers. Now and then he looked out the door hoping someone would walk through that door soon. But there are no signs of any customer. He seemed a bit bored and restless.

Then… a pigeon flew into the frame flapping its wings with all its power. It landed on one of the houses. It’s walking all over the roof and now it’s on the edge of it, maybe getting ready to take flight. Then whoosh… flew away. I see a lot of pigeons every day near where I live, I hear their flapping wings, their cooing. It’s a pretty common sight. They come into our balcony, eat our plants, and make a mess.

And now, at the house in construction, a man and a woman came. They are talking to the old man working there, perhaps there to help. Yes, they are. I can’t see the old man now as he went into one of the rooms.

Then again, another pigeon flew by. Then another group of three pigeons flew by playfully. What did I tell ya?

Yep, that’s one of my journal entries. This is one of the things I enjoy, watching things happening. It gives me the joy to see the world as it’s moving. It’s a less popular way to be comforted.

Watching is one thing but watching while jotting everything down on paper is entirely distinct. It makes me remember things better and clearer. It makes me connect to things on a next level.

Are you thinking how boring I must be if I enjoy doing this? LOL.

Frankly, I’d think so myself if I haven’t experienced this. So before you say I’m boring, you gotta at least try once.

Do you also have any such hobbies? I’m curious to know. Drop your comments and I’ll see you again.

Cheers,

Nikki.
