7 Subjects of Animal Kingdom that Symbolise Self-growth

No being in this universe has got it easy. Every life has a meaning and a battle to win. So when the going gets tough we simply have to look around. There is a multitude of examples that inspire us to keep moving. Life’s not easy but it is always worth fighting for. If you don’t believe me, let me prove it to you. And to do so, we shall look into the kingdom of Animalia for a bit.

Like every human represents a quality, so does every flora and fauna. Then what animals do you think represents self-growth?

Come on, take a wild guess.

Think.

Think.

Think.

Now let’s see if you are right.

1. Butterfly: Transformation & Self-Growth

The life of a butterfly is truly intriguing. The struggle from a tiny egg to a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly is simply awe-inspiring. It feeds itself, takes care of its own growth, and from its own ruins turns into a new self. Only after so much struggle, it gets the power to fly and flaunt.

In one line, a butterfly conveys that a struggle as big can only get beautiful later.

2. The Phoenix: Rebirth & Growth

A Pheonix bird has a long span of life. At the end of its life, it burns itself and turns into ashes. Then from its own ashes, a baby Pheonix bird takes birth ready to take on the world.

Does a Pheonix give up that everything is messed up when it turns to ashes? No. It builds itself from its own ashes.

Pheonix is not only a symbol of growth but also a symbol of healing.

3. Dragonfly: Change & Growth

Many cultures consider Dragonfly to be a sign of good luck and hope. It symbolises change. A Dragonfly goes through many phases of change in its life span. The change is so great yet it sticks to it to become its true self. Because change is not much in our control, only our reaction to it.

It can fly both forward and backward. Again, a lesson to be flexible to whatever may come. A Dragonfly represents flexibility to change and growing through adverse situations.

4. Elephant: Growth in size with wisdom

We all know elephants symbolize abundance and wisdom. It also represents growing with wisdom. Growth is simply it but growth along with intellect is truly a blessing.

Do we wish for just growth?

Or do we want growth that is rooted in wisdom and knowledge?

5. Turtle: Consistent self-growth

However slow it may be, a turtle never stops. It takes its time growing because it has a long life ahead of it. Thus a turtle represents steady growth. It may just be one step, but progress is progress. And I cannot emphasise enough how it grows per its own timeline, not rushing to keep up with others.

6. Robin: Boldness & Growth

The average life span of a Robin bird is two years. Because most of the Robins die in their first year, which is the critical time of their life span. But if they survive that first year, their life span increases dramatically, up to five or six years.

If this isn’t a perfect example of survival of the fittest, then what is.

Robins tell us that one must go through a fight to enjoy the fruit of success.

 7. A Tree: Inner Growth

A giant tree grows from a tiny seed covered under a thick layer of mud. A seed starts working from inside the ground, then it works up above it. The growth starts way before we can actually see it. But just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

The growth has always been there. But a seed becomes a plant only when it has formed stronger roots for itself to stand tall. It doesn’t rush to grow outward, for it knows that inner working is needed before anything.

Life is a struggle for everyone, but it’s not to suffer but to grow.

Much love,

Nikki.
