Another Day At Home! ^_^

It’s just another day at home as India is in lockdown due to COVID-19. A pandemic that threatened the whole world. So, everyone is confined to their houses mostly and so am I. Although I’ve always worked from home and this is nothing new, but still it seems different somehow. Before, a day used to pass by so quickly, god knows why, and now, 24 hours seem like 48 hours. And I’m sick of trying to use this time wisely so I don’t feel the urge of stepping out of the house, something we cannot afford right now.

So this is how I’m spending a day which equals to 48 hours for me lately.

During this time, my day usually starts at 9 O’clock. That’s when I wake up. It’s not like I woke up any earlier before but yeah. I get ready as quick as I can and sit in a separate room to work. As all of us are at home, it’s nearly impossible to work sitting amongst them. This is the peak of isolation. LOL.

Anyhoo, I start my work by writing a blog post. This usually takes two to three hours (sometimes more), like writing, editing, images, SEO, sharing and all. If I don’t have any ideas for a blog post for any day, then I am in trouble. The day seems super slow sans work.

Then, I study a bit of Spanish. You know I’m learning Español and it’s been great so far. This usually continues for an hour, more or less. If I’m in the mood, I binge-study. Hehe. I get overly enthused once a while.

Later, I watch some K-drama and laugh out loud. I watch only those that are happy and funny, I mostly don’t watch serious types. They don’t make me feel good. Here are some of my favorite K-dramas if you want to watch. Currently, I am watching Hit the top, it’s on Netflix and it’s a good one. But of all the recent ones, my favorite one has to “Crash landing on you”. It’s amazing.

And recently, I have also started watching Spanish series (with no English subtitles) to learn the language faster. Although I cannot suggest any for you cause I only understand half of it. But I’m still enjoying it. Trying new things makes me feel so much alive. It is so exciting.

Later, if I still have any energy left, I read a book. At present, I’m reading ‘The Night Circus’. And some of the other books I’ve read this year are “Tell me three things“, “Frankenstein“, “Norwegian Wood“, “The Great Gatsby“. Just trying to throw some ideas for you so your days at home will be eventful as well.

With that, the day comes to an end and so is my struggle. I know it’s difficult to stay inside 24*7 but it’s important now. So, keep yourself busy and stay home. And in the meantime, try not to turn crazy. *wink* If you are still bored, here are some of the things you can do at home.

  •  Play games [one night, we played a mini family tournament with multiple games and had so much fun.]
  • Indulge in a hobby
  • Eat healthy food
  • Workout
  • Listen to music (Current playlist being BTS: Map of the soul 7, Despacito, Scars to your beautiful, The heart wants what it wants, Ikon love scenario, Gorgeous, Senorita.)
  • Sleep enough
  • Have quality family time
  • Work on your skills
  • Pamper yourself
  • Meditate
  • Dance your heart out
  • Have a fun photo session
  • Binge-watch a series on Netflix or Amazon prime
  • Clean your bedroom
  • Cook
  • Nurture your home garden
  • Paint
  • Write something, who knows this lockdown period may bring out a poet in you.
  • Karaoke

And many more…

How is your day at home? It’s just another day, and remember, there are many such days ahead of us and we ought to be prepared for it. So, take care of your physical and mental health and stay well.

Hasta la próxima!!

Lots of Love,

Nikki.
