How do big dreams begin?

What makes humans different from the other living?

We have a mind of our own and we have dreams and aspirations. We create and destroy to realize those dreams. No matter what path we go down, all we do is for our dreams to shape our reality. It’s not just about mere survival, we wish to create a future on our own terms. So yes, dreams make us unique.

A dream is a dream, no matter what size it is. Big or small.

Are you craving a pizza today? A dream, of course.

Wish to move to a big city? A dream, again.

Do you want a car of your own?

Want to start a company?

Or do you want to be the richest in the world?

A dream, dream, and a dream.

As long as a dream can add value to your day and keeps you going, any dream is good enough and big enough.

Still, we all wonder how big dreams begin, don’t we? How successful people begin their journey? How did successful people earn their success? We hear stories of people starting in a single room studio apartments and making it big later. How? It seems like a huge secret but not at all. We all know it.

Like everyone, they also start with a simple thought. But the difference is they keep on dreaming about it instead of brushing it away. Their dream is probably the first thing they think about in the morning and the last thing at night.

Years pass by but they don’t give up. They bounce back even if they thought of quitting. They can’t resist it because they know it’s worth it. And you know what I think fuels their dreams?

Humiliation. And belief.

They take it as a challenge when people say something is too big of a dream for them. Because they know that if they keep working, their dreams will become true one day. One day? Some day? These are the most depressing as well as the most comforting words.

They know that one day will come where they shine bright. And every waking moment is a moment closer to realizing that dream. That little by little their dream is becoming whole.

Finally, there comes that day and they are standing right in front of their dream. What next? Will they stop?

NO.

They will continue to dream. It is a journey, not a destination. When one reaches that point, there’s all the more to do to keep the spirit alive.

And when they look back to see where it all began, they can only see a humble beginning. A mere wishful thought perhaps.

Hence it’s proved all over again that beginning is the least important part of a great journey. What happens after is what we should look forward to.

And the last question I really want to ask you is, do dreams have an expiration date?

I guess you all would say “NO”. But you know what, humans are also the creatures that say one thing and do another. Though you all said no, some of you might have second-guessed your dreams, some might have doubted their own capability, while some might have quit already.

Stan Lee, the creator of the famous Marvel characters, got his first hit “The fantastic four” at the age of 39.

And there are many more who got their big breaks after 60, after 70, and even after 90 years of age. The longer the wait, the greater the reward.

How did your dream begin?

Lots of LOVE,
